Cuir de Russie is a classic perfume that draws inspiration from 19th-century formulations, designed to authentically recreate the essence of this historical fragrance. The perfume opens with a vibrant and zesty blend of bergamot, lemon, and mandarin, creating an inviting citrus accord. At its heart, the rich floral notes of rose oil, jasmine, and rose de mai absolute are harmoniously intertwined with the spicy warmth of clove and the earthy depth of iris root, adding complexity and sophistication to the composition.
The base of Cuir de Russie is where its leathery character truly shines, with the smoky and resinous notes of styrax, castoreum, and birch tar forming the foundation. These are complemented by the warm, woody tones of patchouli from Sumatra, Bourbon vetiver, and the balsamic sweetness of benzoin. Sandalwood and the rare, musky essence of ethically sourced Siberian deer musk tincture add the final touches, enveloping the wearer in a luxurious and timeless scent.
